That's because there are only like 9 people running a 64-bit Windows OS on the desktop, owing to really lousy driver support..... |

well I'm 1 of that ~9. My board came with all 64-bit drivers, and I don't have a printer at home. I have found it more stable than the 32bit. Except for the 1 irritation that it cannot function without a pagefile. It may only be 16MB, but as soon as its removed XP wont finish loading. Keeps access the HDD, and nothing can run. I need to reboot several times to get XP to load fully. One major problem was MS developed it, then just let it sink. It was a good idea - other OS's had been 64-bit for a while. But after no additional MS input after release (in NZ MS wont and never have supported it), it was basically a dump and run, of course drivers weren't developed. But I am getting ~15fps higer in Oblivion, and ~10fps more in C&C3 over the 32-bit versions (max settings). This is due to a slightly higher overclock, but it is because of the stability of the OS I get it. But 64-bit Opera in Linux is great news. Just waiting for skype, java, flash, and a couple of other programs. I am also looking at getting Oblivion, C&C3 and Bioshock working in Ubuntu. Once I have all that, goodbye MS. I will have no need of ye at all. My partner uses itunes, firefox and office. Gtkpod, firefox, and openoffice take care of that. She actually prefers gtkpod over itunes as well. We already use ubuntu as a media PC (playing only). So for me, native 64bit opera (my browser of choice), is a very good thing. It will hopefully also lead the way of other native 64-bit apps.
