IBM's Symphony apps suite, which is positioned as a competitor to Microsoft Office, is in its second beta, and IBM says 88 percent of its users are MIcrosoft customers

I think a lot more people would try it out if they didn't have the pita registration process...myself included.

Also they don't make it clear if by MS customers they mean Windows users or Office users. I don't see a survey, so I'm assuming they are basing these stats on how many people download symphony for windows vs linux.
