| Can't help but wonder what MS will do after they've got a bunch of people running 'illegal' copies of Vista. It's the same principle as a drug dealer; hook 'em with a 'free sample' and then soak 'em once they're addicted and can't do anything else......

| I think the reason why the loophole is there is because its the only way to get a "clean" install of vista from the upgrade version. They removed the ability to insert your old cd during the install process.

| It would be a simple matter to have you provide your old install media to verify that you actually were eligible for the upgrade. They've done that on other versions of Windows in the past. No, this was a deliberate decision, IMO, and it was done because they figured they would have problems with uptake.

| Yea, but that verification was always a joke, it isn't as blatant as being able to upgrade to Vista from a trial Version of Vista, but how hard is it to source a previous OS CD from Somewhere.
