Microsoft extends XP deadline for low-cost PCs

Low-cost desktop PC makers can now include Windows XP in those systems until 2010, the same as the deadline for low-cost laptops

Microsoft has further extended the life of Windows XP so that computer makers can include the operating system on low-cost desktop PCs, the company announced at the Computex trade show on Tuesday....[Front page...]

Looks like they're happy to extend the life of the version of XP that's used on crappy lappies. Like that moniker!

Did I mention I love my crappy lappy. Not that MS are going to make any money out of me through it however.
