Post Nvidia Geforce v182.50 whql drivers released!

I'm a couple days behind on this but better late then never!

You can download the latest 182.50 drivers from Nvidia here...

Nvidia Graphics drivers v182.50 whql main

And for those (like me) that want to be on the cutting edge you can download the latest Nvidia Geforce beta drivers v185.66!
This is the link to the Vista 185.66 32 bit beta drivers, but you can download for whatever version OS you are running.

These 185.66 beta drivers are for 9 series cards & up, but I'm going to see if I can't modify the nv_dsp.ini to include 8 series cards...hehe!
Once or if I figure out how to do this to install these drivers I'll let you know
the results on my 8800GTS because I want to see ambient occlusion (a new feature on the 185.66 drivers) on my HL2 & COD-4-5 games!
The last trick I used to do this didn't work this time on these drivers.

The new 185.66 drivers use Ambient Occlusion.
To see this effect in action (Half Life 2) look at this from EVGA.

So what is Ambient Occlusion?
Standard lighting models compute the color of a surface based on its properties and the lights in a scene. Objects that are in the path of a light cast shadows; otherwise, their presence does not affect the lighting of other objects. Ambient occlusion improves this model by accounting for the dimming caused by objects that block out ambient light. An example of this is the junction where a wall and a ceiling meet; while no direct shadows are cast, the corner nevertheless appears darker. Ambient occlusion simulates this phenomenon, along with all other cases where objects are close enough to block out ambient light.

I just got my hands on a 6600 and popped it in to my shuttle box. My vista score went up from 2.0 (video was the lowest) to 5.7 and 4.7.

Now it's time for more ram!!!
