Chrome OS: Internet failing at PC > PC failing at Internet

Written by Daniel

In 2009, it's better to be an Internet company that's taking slow, awkward first steps toward the PC, than a PC company that's still trying and failing to truly integrate with the Internet. [Front page...]

Actually, Firefox is benefiting/continuing to benefit from Chrome's development; a number of the javascript performance enhancements in Chrome have either made their way into FF or have spurred similar developments in FF.....

Letting them contribute is a gift Firefox gives as a grace from above! ":O}

That said...I wish it would stop screwing up every ten minutes! It keeps losing AOA, Firefox asks that I uncheck "work offline" in Files, when it is unchecked... and never was checked...unless our server is hic upping or Fedora 12 is messing it's pants...":O}

I've been having a hard time connecting to AOA today as well, I wasn't sure if it was my rig or not, I have been learning some things and making some changes to packages on my system so I just figured it was me..

Nothing's been changed on the server in the last day or so (applied some patches yesterday), and I've not had issues myself....

It didn't feel like a AOA server problem, more like a connection problem, once it locked on to AOA it loaded right up, but if I tried to go to another AOA page it would take minutes to connect so I think it was somewhere in between.

That link seems to go straight to a known bot-net recruitment center. I like to call IE the roach motel, bugs check in but they never check out..

More on topic, The more I hear and the more I learn about "the cloud" the more I feel it is a setup. While cloud computing certainly has it's uses, it has some serious pitfalls as well.

Would love to see the look of an IE dev seeing his work referred to as the roach motel.

I was in Fedora 12 and it kept (several times over two hours) checking the Work offline box in FireFox "Files" then pretending that I did it and asking me to uncheck it...

If Firefox has become sentient she at lest has a sense of humor!! ":O}
