Indeed, if you want to store more than the free initial 2GB allowance, Dropbox isn't the cheapest option.

I used to use a little P4 box with a few drives to act as a gateway between unpleasant countries and the UK - I haven't been able to use it for the last couple of years (as I've had nowhere to put the box, and haven't been using an ISP with a static IP, which means messing about with DynDNS or similar). That was useful as rsync over ssh (over ssl using stunnel, if in Saudi) was a possibility.

I must get around to rebuilding it
