 Win xp won't load I dunno what happend, but win xp went on the fritz! I did'nt have restore on so i could'nt go back to restore point. When i rebooted, all i got was a black screen. I hate to format but thats what i did.when i tried to load xp back, it goes thru the motions, analize,scan, save settings, then it'll download, restart, and thats where it just goes blank like it's looking for some file to execute but it does'nt. I reset and it does the same thing at that same point. The disk is spotless and there's no scratches. Both my cdrom and burner have been cleaned. i tried it on both rom's and it's still the same dang problem. Now i gotta run this win 98se crap. I've formatted at least 4x today to see if it'll load but it won't. Can somebody help?

| I had a similar problem a while back with my old faithful Celery 600 on my Soyo board. I slept on it, still no ideas. I had to go into my BIOS to change the power failure option, and I just for the hell of it decided to load CMOS defaults. When I tried setup again, voiala!! (I have no clue if i spelled that right. lol) So I recommend you try loading your CMOS defaults, if you havent already done that. If not try flashing your BIOS, then loading defaults. Hope it works for ya!

| Thanx guyz but i just got the breaking point and 86ed the pc. I was getting my sledge but i figured i can sell the parts and get at least 1/2 my money back I've tried evrything, setting evrything to defaults the the pc would'nt even boot up. I refgormatted so many times i'm freakin dizzy. partitioned i dunno how many times, i lost count. Switched hardware, hd's, memory. Nothing worked. I'm soooooooooo ****KING pissed off right now !!!

| Remember that this motherboard may have issues... and that the installation of XP you had was one installed on another similar board also running a via chipset, so now maybe you're seeing some of the issues with this board surface. Try another motherboard!
