Leaked XP SP1 1065

Just a heads up, I know this probably doesn't apply to anyone on THIS forum, but if you're planning on d/l and installing the new 'leaked' SP1 1065 for XP, and if you're running the warezed version with FCKGW in the registration number, you will not have XP when you reboot. MS has 'fixed' that regged version.
It's a hefty 130mb d/l, too, btw.

I did NOT post a d/l link, as the ones that are up now are so overloaded, you probably won't get in anyway. One guy said he logged over 500,000 hits in 24 hours. x 130mb d/l. heh... fat chance.

I'll upload SP1 1065 to aoafiles in about 3 hours. I guess then the aoafiles team will check it over and then make it available for anyone interested.

Good article from Paul Thurott on XP-SP-1 . It is my understanding that most all of the security fixes are and have been available through the 'windows update' site feature. Some of the other compatability issues will be in SP-1 for now but will be available there as well in piecemeal pick and choose fashion.

well i did the sp1 thing but not sure what good it did. sure don't see any bells and whistles other than the SP1's new compliance feature.

Mook, don't bother uploading it, I don't feel comfortable hosting beta M$ servicepack files, that's why they have their own site to verify the updates and offer support, etc...

I have been sitting on a DX9 beta for a while for the same reason, it's not something I feel comfortable hosting until support is official for it.

Beta video/sound drivers are not so bad, they can usually be removed with little fanfare... these directx and servicepack betas can hose an entire windows installation.

In case anyone's interested, this is what it looks like if you try to install SP1 with the illegal volume license key. It's not a screenshot of one of my machines so no flames.
