VMWare?

So what's the scoop?

I have heard what it does, good things... etc... anything else anyone wants to add?

The 30-day version of VMWare that comes with some Linux distributions ain't at all what it's cracked up to be. Perhaps the real-deal $700 edition from VMWare is the Rosetta Stone that it purports to be.

Maybe I'm missing the boat, but I don't understand how running multiple OSes at the same time is such a big advantage. If someone can explain, I'd be grateful.
