I don't think so. If it's not NT 3.51, NT 4, Win2K or NT 5 it's not happy at multi-tasking.

But I don't know that for sure. And I don't know if the non-Server editions of the NT family are genuine multi-taskers!

Maybe MS finally admitted to The Great Helmsman's boundless ego? As in, it is all about ME, right BBBBB?

As an OS, what can you really say? My neighbor is ga-ga over Me. What I've read about it ain't good. If he likes it, good for him!

With MS, people tend to love or hate every new OS.
But seriously, folks: there are more than one thousand operating systems. MS only made about ten of them. They may own 93% of all desktops. Dare to be a free-thinker! Try something else.

I'd be happy to find out. Oh no! There's an invisible force field that makes it impossible to open the closet where 3.11 is stored. Sorry!

ME not 32 bit? huh?

I think all operating systems have been 32bit since windows 95 with 16 bit (windows 3.1) emulation capabilities...

Not 'true' 32 bit, in that ME will still run 16 bit programs without emulation.

I have nothing but sorrow and compassion for those with ME on their systems, and can't go back at least to 98SE.

I tried it once for about a month when it came out... suxxored big time, very unstable, blah blah. Notice they don't really support ME, either, not in the way they did SE / 2K / XP... like an interim O/S that pretended to be NT'ish... heh

ME is not based on true 32 bit (sole) code... it can run 16 bit code withOUT emulating it (unlike 2K/xp).

It's a p-poor excuse for an O/S is all I figured out... 98SE was much better... Moot point, I'm not in the 9x series anymore except to try to help some people still there.

ME still has the resource drain like the 9X o/s's. And, it had no native DOS support, in that, they 'hid' it, making it a nightmare to try to fix your system at a DOS prompt, if I remember correctly.
You could boot to a Win98 Boot Disk and use the DOS commands on the disk, though.

I may be totally wrong, I'm working on memory.... and I haven't been using it a lot lately... (mem, that is...

Just thought of something that WAS useful about ME:
You can replace Win98 and Win95's Scandisk.exe and Defrag.exe with ME's and it speeds up the process tenfold.

Side note: You can also put XP's MSConfig into 2K, and 2K will then have MSConfig

You can also use Win9x's MSConfig in Win95... helps a lot.

I never had a problem with Windows Me ever until i got my audigy and epox 8k3a+ but i fixed that now and run dual boot with xp pro on my system

Works perfectly and dam faster than 98se ever was but yes driver support for Win Me is very lousy but blame hardware companies for that because they think everyone only uses 98se or 2000/xp OS
