Quiet PS2

Has anyone with a Playstation 2 ever noticed how loud the fan is? especially when watching a quiet part on a DVD. I am tring to quiet mine down, I will probably put in the 60mm fan off my heat-sink when I get a new one, (its quiet). I am thinking that for now, I will just put a hole in the top of the PS2 for more free flowing air, and it will move out some hot air as well, should quiet it down, anyone have any other ideas?

space permitting, but a larger, slower rotating fan in there instead.

lol, water cooling might be a bit exessive, unless you can figure out some way to overclock the thing.

no space for a larger fan, I could make a whole new casing for it, that could be fun, but alas, with school, I have no time. thanks for the Idea though, I might just have a new summer project.

Update:
Ive done a few things so far:
*removed front grill
*removed rear fan grill
*cut a hole in the top, near the front on the left side, (right above some heat sink things on the inside)

so far it is a fair amount quieter than when I started, but still annoying, looks like I'll have to replace the fan to make any significant gains. Im thinking a light may be put in eventually, so it can glow out all the hole, I'd need two, prolly have to be small neons, gonna be hard finding a 12v source though.

That was my original plan Jazz, but I have to separate the PSU from the main console to get a connection to it, I suppose I could just wire the contacts up by wire instead of its prongs while im testing, there ate only like 6. anyway, thats when I get money and time, I have neither now, so this project will have to wait until the summer. thanks for the Ideas all
