I Made It!!!!

After arriving at Best Buy as they started letting people in at 6:45 CST this morning, I quickly ran to the computer section and grabbed the LAST Ti200!

I then proceeded to wait in line for 45 minutes until I could check out. I also got a 64MB Rio at Circuit City for $30 no MIR's because I whined that people were taking too many of the 32MB Nike's that were on sale for $30.

More later, gotta put my Ti200 in now!

Is that a GF2 core (like at Ultra speeds) or a GF3 core handicapt?

I went to their website this morning and couldn't find much to indicate the TI200 was GF3 card...

I used the Coolbits hack that TB just uploaded and so far have just o/ced the core. I'm at 220/400 at the moment. I need to download a 3rd party program to get the core above 220. Does 220 sound right? I mean, it's stable and everything, but I just didn't expect it to overclock that much. I would've been happy with 200. Anyway, I'm going to work on the memory now.

$150 with $50 MIR. I'm at 220/500 at the moment, that's what the Ti500 defaults at. And the memory sinks aren't even hot. I am simply amazed. Must have been mis-binned. I got dragged to the mall by my mom but am going to overclock it some more right now.

Well, I now have the core speed of my GF2MX up to 240 with default cooling(default speed is 175). All it took was a GPU voltage hack for the extra scalability, and a bit of BIOS rewriting to give me clock speed otions above 220/210. Now I have options up to 250/250

Unfortunetly I was not lucky enough to get me a GF3 Ti200 today I showed up a half hour after the store opened and there was a huge line out front. I guess Best Buy had a huge sale on just about everything from what I hear.

Thanks for the tip. OK, advice needed. Here's the deal. I'm currently running at 225/534. Stock cooling. The temp on the back of the card is around 89F. The sinks are mild to the touch. No artifacts. Got artifacts with core at 230. Haven't gotten artifacts from memory yet. Heeding Dan's warning, should I a) overclock some more, b) leave it where it is, or c) put it back to ---/---.

Help me out. Never had an Nvidia card before. P.S. I'm using NVMax.

My best advice as follows:
Hook up with the DimmReaper, he will get up without harm. See his post above":O}

Keep overclocking! At least that's what I would do. How hot is 89F again? My card becomes unstable when the back of it gets to about 45C.

As always, you do all this at your own risk. But frequency alone doesn't kill parts. It is always heat or voltage that kill parts. And a part has to get pretty hot for heat to kill it, like around 80C in most cases.

So in short, crank the core up up up!

Keep going, the worse that can happen is you get artifacting well before any damage could occur.

All right, here's the deal. I tried it at 225/540 and got MAJOR artifacts, I had to press the restart button. I thought, that kind of thing doesn't just come, why didn't I see any minor artifacts. I then realized that I hadn't ran 3dMark2001 with it at 225/534 and then when I did I saw the minor artifacts. At 225/530 there are absolutely no artifacts. I'm currently running it a 210/500 because it's the first day and I don't feel like pushing it too hard yet. Anyway, can anyone challenge 225/530 as the highest stable Ti200 overclock around with stock cooling?
