http://www.iha.dk/English_Version/english_version.html I'm in the EIT department (Electronics and IT). From the ww.iha.dk webpage: Structure of Education It takes three-and-a-half years, including a trainee- ship, to gain a B.Eng.(Engineering) degree and be- come a Diploma Engineer. The Engineering College of Aarhus has 3 departments offering the following degrees: M-Department: - Mechanical Engineering. - International Year in Mechanical Design B-Department: - Civil and Constructional Engineering - Environmental Construction Engineering EIT-Department: - Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering. - Information and Communication Technology. Basic subjects Before they begin their course, the students choose the Department within which they wish to study. In the first two years the courses mainly consist of scientific foundation subjects and technical engineering subjects. The engineering traineeship The integrated engineering traineeship takes place in the fifth semester of the course. The traineeship, which is compulsory, gives, among other things, the student a practical understanding of and relationship to the engineering subjects studied at the College. The student participates in the ongoing projects of a Danish or a foreign company. Specialization After the engineering traineeship the student can freely choose to specialize via a number of optional courses. The specialization will be influenced by the projects the students are interested in or which they worked on during the engineering traineeship. The final project In the last semester, the student carries out his/her final project. This will take from 3 to 5 months. The majority of the subjects for the final projects come from industrial companies, hospitals or other public companies. Mostly, an associate professor at the Engineering College will supervise the student in the project, often assisted by an employee from the company in question. The final project can be carried out alone or in groups of 2. Optional subjects The Engineering college will also offer optional subjects concurrently with the final project. |

We have the highest tax rates in the world... But its not all bad, as education is "free" for everyone here (college and universities too). Students just have to pay books and stuff, thats all. We even get money from the governtment while we are studying. About $600 a month if you live outside your parents home, half of that if you still live with your folks. That means I can go to college for free, and I don't need to work much to be able to pay my rent and get food on the table. |

$400 for rent, cable and TV a month. Leaves $200 for food and fun. Not much left when all that is paid. Btw, your girl would know what the components are... at least if she is studying for electronics engineer or similar. |

| Is the one on the left a sort of varible power supply? I see a full wave brigde there and a rather large cap that could be a filter cap. |
| ||||
| or just a ac to dc converter because i dont see a step down transformer.. |

![]() Its a variable DC supply, but lacking the IC. 50 V AC comes in in one end, and it gives out between 1.27 and 26.73 V in the other end. (Thats what the variable resistor is for). |
