| I have had to deal with this on numerous Norton & Triumph motorcycles. Give this a try ..... You can make a negative ground radio work by simply switching the wiring so that the negative (black) wire on the radio connects to a Pos. (Red) wire on the cars harness. Same with the other wire, cross the color. THEN....... You have to isolate the mounting of the radio so that the chassis is not screwed down to or bolted to any metal on the car. You also have to make sure you eliminate the grounding wire from the antenna. This may make the radio not receive very well. Do some research on this before you go and start messing around but I'm pretty sure it should work. If your Dad is ever in a charitable mood and just happens to want to give that ride away to someone who will REALLY appreciate it.... I'm available. One other idea... you may try and look for a LUCAS radio. The common joke is....Lucas, the prince of darkness. Do you know why the Brits drink warm beer? .... Because they have Lucas refrigerators. Seriously though... You may want to try and call THIS guy and see what he would have to offer. It looks like he's at least close by you. ADDED: I poked around a bit and found THIS you will find a more qualified answer here I'm sure

DC to DC converters (the technical name for those little boxes that isolate their DC output from their DC input) do work, but might be a little pricy, depending on how much power is needed. Áedán

| Yes SM that was VERY helpfull, but my father has rather a thick skull, and until i can prove to him that we cant find one of those boxes, the information above is saved in a word document for safe keeping. If your ever up my way, a "test" drive is easily done! ![]() |
