George Soros.

I don't know if any of you have heard of this man, but he may very well be the most powerful man in the world that you never heard of. Anyway, he is the head of the Quantum Fund, a very large and successful mutual fund. If you had invested $1000 in his fund in 1969 when it started, that $1000 would be worth over $4 million today. He has an estimated fortune somewhere in the $7 billion range.

Over the last two decades, George Soros has been very active in international affairs. He has donated billions to groups in Africa, Asia, and the former Soviet bloc to promote democracy. He believes that his money obligates him to try to better the world in ways he sees fit.

Anyway, the point of this post is that George Soros has decided that George W. Bush is the greatest threat to the world. He likens G. W. Bush and followers to Nazi Germany. A bit extreme if you ask me, but he's entitled to his view. Soros believes that removing G. W. Bush to be the "central focus of [his] life." Soros puts his money where his mouth is. He recently donated $5 million to www.moveon.org, a site devoted to liberal causes, which I am sure will now also include removing G. W. Bush from office. Soros has also commented that he is willing to do whatever it takes to remove G. W. Bush from the Presidency, including giving up his fortune. I have to admit, $7 billion is a lot of money to go up against. I don't know if G. W. can survive with his paltry $300 million warchest.

we at team 45 are all trying to better the world. I'm sure mr. Soros wouldnt mind chucking a few thousand ... of those us Dollars my way even after exchange rate it would be enough to buy those tualatins and maybe a couple more rigs.. i'd have to move into the loft.

Mr Soros has more than a few conservative friends. But he's absolutely correct about the present President [sic]. This administration is evil, imho.

We tend to let emotion rather than logic define our political opinions. As no one can "win" a political argument, I don't want to get into a slogging match that's simply an exersize of "circular logic." My opinion is worth no more than another person's.
