Those dang .ram files. Haven't heard one of them yet. The show has never been off of the air (somewhere) since its debut. The producer claims that he made and makes no money on the show. Now that's chutzpah.

Question: WTH would anyone want to leave that fictional island? Hmm. Maybe to escape the insufferable Skipper and his monkey faced Little Buddy?

In the same vein, why did that dipscrip astronaut in I Dream of Jeanie(sp?) prevent the lucious Barbara Eden from making his life a lot easier? What a chump. And he wasn't married yet he refused to do the wild thing with the most gorgeous woman on the air at that time. Would you?

Speaking of monkey faces... The replacement "Dick" character in Bewitched broke my spectacles. Maybe we're supposed to take the hint and turn off the blankety blank television?

You know what Cloasters? I've been wondering the exact same things...well maybe not the Darrin thing on Bewitched. I've also been wondering the following:

If the castaways were on a 3 hour tour, then why do the Howells, Ginger, and Maryann have so much clothing? I can understand Gilligan and the Skipper seeing as how they probably live on the boat, but the other's don't really make sense.

If Samantha on Bewitched was getting all that crap from Darrin for using witchcraft, couldn't she just conjure up a spell that would make him just go along with it?

In Petticoat Junction, how is it that 3 of the prettiest girls in the state think they're dowdy hicks and can't get boyfriends, except one?

In the Beverly Hillbillies, you would think a smart guy like Jed would learn a little bit about banks and keep Mr. Drysdale from ripping him off all the time.

If I were Dick Van Dyke and was married to Mary Tyler Moore, there'd be no way we'd be sleeping in separate beds. I can understand Ricky with Lucy though...

If I had a talking car like in My Mother the Car, I'd sell it for a couple million easy.

It still boggles my mind that Herman Munster thinks he irresistable to women. Same deal with Gomez Addams.

Sheesh, we've had decades to think about this stuff. I know very little about most subjects, including American television. Real life is beyond insane, perhaps it should be no surprise that tv entertainment makes little sense?

Maybe reality is so harsh that suspension of disbelief comes easy to many of us? Hmm, no wonder that we allow our politicos to lie barefacedly so much of the time. It can be argued that television is evil. There is something about it that tranquilizes people. Perhaps the frequency of the CRT's scan is related to 30 Hz? Cats purr in the note of "B," which is 30 Hz. Many folks are calmed at this frequency.

Tv isn't "evil," yet it is programmed by people that want to sell you things. They have little interest in giving the public knowledge that is helpful. We're kept off balance, made to feel that we lack validity. If you're not a consumer, you don't exist. Better address this lack of A through Z. NOW.

Credit card debt is astronomical. The temptation to use it overwhelms, we simply don't think about the fact that there is no magic here. Things must be paid for, the monthly statement is in black and white. Debtor's prison is a fact for more than a few people that struggle to pay hospital bills. No kidding, this 18th Century scourge is being revived.

Where were we? Bewitched was annoying, especially in retrospect. The Beverly Hillbillies is one of the greats. Old fashioned family values clash with modern rampant phoniness and criminality. Max Baer Jr was one hell of a comedian.
Barbara Eden would have made the worst show on the dial bearable. Why am I hung up on Barabara Eden? If you're old enough to remember, it's not a mystery.

I was thinking about whether if I was on Gilligan's Island, I'd want to leave. I decided a lot of it would depend on Ginger. If she were teasing me all the time being all slinky all over the island, I'd have to leave for my sanity.
