Do we want to award titles to our membership?

To be honest I have real reservations about having Status classifications at all.

System Admin. and BBS Admin. are just jobs that need doing, people who at times need to be contacted by our members to get something done.

The remainder of this forums tiles began with the assumption that our member desired to have them and if we were to have them to try at lest to make them somewhat meaningful.

But It does seem to me that we have gotten this far without paying to much attention to weather or not this is the case. Weather or not our membership as a whole really feels such tiles are an asset.

Here are current titles, read them over, think over the plan as a whole
then vote. Please remember that this has a real air of permanence, it will chart the course we will be following .

Member Status

1. A "New Member": is one who has signed-up and decides to participate in our forums.

2. A "Member": is one who shows a continuing interest in their participation.. by having made 200+ posts.

3. An "Advanced Member": is one whose posts have shown themselves to be of real use to our Membership as a whole, rather than a madcap Spamming effort to gain posts and recognition. They must have a 1000+ post to their credit.

4. "Veteran Member": As we are a forum and group of sites who believe we have a "Teaching Mission" We wanted to give recognition to those who have achieved a "Professional status" in the Computing world at large. We feel that such people bring with them a body of knowledge and experience which can prove quite useful in the attainment of our mutual goals. To gain such recognition in our forums we ask that the following be made available to us. (A.) a MCSE or higher Microsoft certification, Novell, Cisco, MCSP for programmers or some similar professional qualification that demonstrates their professional standing in the Computing field. In addition an advanced member must have made 300 posts. (B.) Any member with 300+ posts who possess an Engineering Degree.

5. A "Mentor" or "Senior Member" I appoint Seniors in recognition of the following demonstrated and perceived qualities, here ranked in the order of importance I feel each of them to possess.

A. The ability and predisposition to help others, Particularly those who have yet to acquire those skills and that knowledge an Overclocker must possess in order to gain the satisfactions of our Art.

B. A demonstrated patience and reserve in dealing with unruly or disagreeable people.

C. The desire and skill to debate or disagree, resorting only to REASON rather than force of personality or insults which cannot further knowledge, but can only injure our progress.

D. The experience gained though a reasonably extensive back ground in overclocking together with a general knowledge of hardware and software taken as a whole.

E. Approximately six months in our forum. Time to demonstrate a continuing interest in our forum and allow me to determine the aptitude we seek

6. "OES Member" "Allied Member Site" Owners/Editors/Staffers. Those who spend endless hours in an effort to refine and present our art to the general public and each other. Rarely receiving more than a pittance in terms of monetary reward. They continue the work and advance it's progress with each new evolutionary step in hardware and software. They save us endless frustration and wasted dollars by taking upon them selves the daring and despair of the Discover. Their collective desire that you be informed and have a say, has made these forums possible.

7. "Moderator" Moderators will serve 30 day terms of service in rotation. They will be selected from those who have earned the title of Mentor or Senior Member.

8. "Chief Systems Administrator" He who Maintains our hardware and software, tweaks the pages we present to our readers and tries to accommodate the requests we make.

9."Chief BBS Administrator" He who tries to bring about the unity of a connected whole
