Bloody Earl Tupper

In 1907, a man by the name of Earl Tupper was born. He didn't know it at the time, but he was going to grow up to be an idiot. He spent his unfortunately long and crappy life pushing dodgy plastic containers on women, who were too domesticated and simple to know any better.

As a result of Earl, we have "Tupperware".

Normally, tupperware is sold through the tupperware party scene, which keeps my mother out of it, since she does not socialise with people boring enough to become "tupperware ladies", but now that she has learned how to use a magical tool called Ebay, all that has changed.

My mother does not know computers, and I liked that. Then she saw me buying car parts on ebay and wanted to have a look. Now she paypals, netbanks, and ebays constantly, spending hours making sure that her extensive tupperware collection is up to date.

Tupperware is flying into our house from all over Australia, America, and god knows where else. We have forget-me-nots, we have rock'serves (in both the 3.3L, and the 4.7L sizes), we have mini-tups, we have ice-tups.

The kitchen, the dining room, is being overtaken by these expensive pieces of plastic crap, and I want to know, why are these things so attractive?

What makes women spend hundreds upon hundreds of dollars buying crappy plastic containers?

Is there some sort of collector's value? A symbolic status? A feeling of superiority in knowing that you own more tupperware than that bitch on the end of the street?

I buy computer parts, and I like it, but I see a purpose to it. What is the freaking purpose of having a boatload of lousy plastic containers?!?

LOL!

Ann Summers is a household name here! Women have Ann Summers parties now instead of Tupperware parties.

I asumed you wouldn't need to look it up. I guess she may be opening a shop near you soon. You have been warned.

This one is for your little brother. This one is for your alarm clock. This one is for your dog, keep him fresh at all times! this one is for your house, don't worry about hail (or breathing) EVER AGAIN! the solution to the greenhouse effect? PUT THE WHOLE EARTH IN A PLASTIC BOX!"

OK, well I guess Australian women just arn't having dildo parties yet. Their loss perhaps.

Possibly related to the British being unable to satisfy their women drove them to "rabid rabit three ways". I hope they dont sell those second hand on ebay. 0_0.

In any case, being a household name explains how you know about it, knowing the current products would lead me to think you were doing a little dildo shopping of your own Mr. Danrok. Care to explain?

Not suitable for women? It's a women's shop, run by women for women. There's one on my high-street. Not some dingy back-street place.

I worked on Ann Summers annual "conference" some years ago. We built a stage set which was massive! The biggest I've ever seen. She must be making some money alright. Unfortunately, my services were not required whilst the conference was in progress. All that work and I didn't get to see a single model.

This is too funny. There's a local forum called "freecycle"...basically pewople giving away crap they don't want. it's great for making tupperware, rugs, shoes, and miscellaneous other useless household items(including pets and errant husbands), dissappear. I've got my wife down to half a small cupboard of tupperware...

Damn crap keeps multiplying...at least the lids do. What do you do with 115 lids, and 23 containers?

mate, we even have this thing called a free tup holder bolted to each cupboard door. Its a dispenser for lids. And yea, the ratio is about 6:1 lids:containers.

Its alright to purchase it and use it sensibly, like for storing things that need to be airtight, and dont come in suitable container for use after you first open it, and its also ok as long as you don't become obsessed
