Kirk Vs Picard: Showdown

Kirk has the hair, the ladies, the chest and the cool phaser. He drinks, he fights, and he shoots first before the other guy gets a chance.

Picard has a better ship, speaks properly, was stabbed through the heart as a kid and thinks things out. He can curse in Klingonese, survived assimilation, and is too busy to raise children.

But which *is* the better Enterprise captain?

Which is why I only asked <which> is the better Enterprise Captain, not <who> is the best enterprise captain.

This is interesting as the majority of star trek fans, particularly those who consider themselves to be "cool" trekkies are massive kirk fans.

Personally, I've always been partial to Picard. I still hate Wesley and Troi, but I certainly don't mind Picard. He does take risks, and break the prime directive, stand up to admirals, and blow stuff up for the hell of it. Just not as much.

Attitude alone IMO can't make up for the Shat's terrible acting.

Although I am definitely a die-hard TOS fan, I would have to go with Picard on this question, as he has more class, IMHO.

he never even got the enterprise out of drydock before he lost command of the big E

edit, though we could include Spock, and Riker they were both promoted to captain, and then placed in command of their enterprises for a breif time

Yes, but an acting captain can't really compare... Spock was weak as piss, and Riker is too crazy. He gets lucky, but every time hes in danger he does something stupid that pulls off. Like the seperation in the best of both worlds where they got the Captain back.

And like when he collects the explosive gas at great risk to the Enterprise E, and vents it on the Son'a. And then in the same movie, he tries to ram another Son'a.

Its not as good as the Picard maneuver though.

1: Arms in a thrusting forward motion
2: Push up from knees
3: Firmly grab base of shirt
4: Tug firmly downwards
5: Rub area between crotch and stomach in an upset stomach manner, to provide the illusion that you were in fact not straightening shirt, and that is sticks to your rock hard body whenever you stand up.

The trump card, is Sisko. Sisko is everything that Picard is, only at the same time, he's the "Shaft" of starfleet. Klingon headbutts him, and he just laughs it off and smacks the crap out of him.

The Defiant is simply pwnage. The Enterprise E is all well and good, but the Defiant has "wang" in spades. That, and it has Ezri Dax on it and a Klingon doing what Klingon's do best, chief of blowing crap up, and the thing hits as hard as hell.
