Running Windows in an apple

Boot camp is a new app available to Intel based Apples.... should be interesting.

While this is very interesting news, I think Apple's hand was forced because people had already worked out how to boot XP onto Intel-based Macs.

However, I think it is just another step down the road that will end up with Apple being just another hardware vendor, with out their own OS. I really hope Apple don't end up like that, though.

I don't know about running windows on apple hardware, but a few of my mates already have Mac OSX running on their Athlon 64 laptops, with full wireless support.

Its not easy, but any SSE2 CPU can do it, while SSE3 is prefferable. Its illegal mind you, so I wouldn't try it myself since to do so you are pirating apple software, but the exercise demonstrates that it is possible.

How long before OSX is competing on regular desktop hardware?
