Quick Excel help needed

Going out to all you MS Excel gurus out there....

I need a formula to add up the total number of cells that have a date in them. My spreadsheet has a column with dates that represent when a particular task was completed. I would like to know how many finished tasks there are on the spreadsheet. Any ideas?

=COUNT(A1:A4)

Only works for numbers, I dont see why it wouldnt work for dates. Depending on what format the dates are in.

A1:A4 are whatever cells your dates are located between.

=COUNTBLANK(A1:A4)

Counts all the empty cells in range of A1 to A4.
