 Socket? Looks like I broke the motherboard of my old HP Pavillion (yes.that one). It doesn't recognize the HD neither the DVD rom. I change the cables (twice). I install a NIC and remove the cables for that, when I was connecting them back the board mekes a funny noise, like a "crack".  So my feeling is that I mess up the board. Looking forward to change it but need to know what kind of socket it has. HP Pavillion 1994 more eo less, Intel celeron 2.2gigs.Live Long and Prosper
