AOA Welcome Robot

I've had several, err, comments regarding the AOA Welcome Bot. Since it doesn't really seem to be serving the purpose for which it was created, and it DOES seem to be annoying several of you, I've decided to give the Welcome Bot a vacation for a bit.

I wasn't too much of a fan on the welcome bot, to be honest.

I have to admit I was gutted that it never made a welcome thread for itself though

Being your age, you clearly missed out on Transformers: Robots in Disguise

Otherwise you wouldn't ask that question

I'm not a fan of the bot. It's a nice idea, but as about 9/10 of the people it welcomes either:
A) Don't post in their own Welcoming Thread.
B) Never post.
C) Bugger off once they've solved their problem.

....it isn't quite as effective as you'd hope. For me, it just creates a lot of cltuter in the forum. It's nice, but I think we can make people feel at home without it.

Hell, I thought it was a good idea. Sentimental me. Is that better than a semi-mental me?

I think it was a cool idea.

The problem of clutter can be solved without killing the bot, we could just make a new section on the forum JUST for welcomes .

so.... bring back the bot
