I havn't seen a real BSOD in so long it's not even funny, I've got Win 2k Advanced Server or Mandrake 8.1 on all my boxes, both OSes either run or they don't, and when they don't you know you really screwed something up . . .

Unix doesn't do BSOD. Unix does "Fatal error: halting!"

that's what happens when it can't find the root partition

Of course, my boot sequence has about 5 "FAILED"s in it, but I'm too lazy to fix it

Seen loads of BSOD's in unlikely places... the ticket machines at Waterloo rail station, a couple of cash-machines, and the scariest one was the pre-booked cinema ticket machine that crashed while my card was in it

Took a week to get the bank to give it back to me

Not those lovely NatWest cash machines? Saw a couple of those sitting at a DOS prompt whilst they were upgrading them...

The WHSmith at Victoria station ran through a spate of BSODs, corrupted files and dying projector bulbs.
