Reznor makes $750,000 even when the music is free

Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails made headlines again this week as he released his new, four-part instrumental album Ghosts I-IV, at a variety of price points, including a $300 super-deluxe package. He's also giving away Ghosts I at no charge, even throwing the tracks up on The Pirate Bay for anyone to download.

2 good things from this.

1. Giving the people what they want, how they want it.

2. The record companies not getting a dime.

Pity I don't like NiN enough to support them further if they needed it.

I am a huge Nails fan and i think its great he gets everything. Wish he would tour here again soon

I paid for the album right away after seeing the news on digg. It's extremely different from most NIN material; very mellow for the most part. As stated in the above, you can get the first 30 or 45 minutes of it for free just as a little taste.

I really enjoy listening to it.
