| Better cable bandwidth via cable modem ?firmware update. Think twice! This story tells of the trouble that some Pennsylvania hackers are in for illegally upping their cable bandwidth. www.wtol.com/Global/story.asp?S=835132 "B-but occifer, all I did was update the software for my modem." Or is it, "But speshal agent man, ...?"

| I've gotta say I'm always surprised when cableco's rely on bandwidth management operating on a device in an untrusted environment. (IE, the cable modem.) Generally asking for trouble, but they still carry on doing it! There are a few who manage bandwidth centrally, making it hard to defeat. AidanII
