| Hmmm. Got a Bike. Been in the USA 4 days and I already miss my bike But replacing 1500 pounds sterling of bike is not something I wanted to do and leave here. But, it's quite common in the USA for women to buy a bike and just leave it in the garage and never use it. And women are the best bikes to grab becuase they choose smaller frames which are better for trials. So I looked in the classifieds and found a GT Outpost for sale for $75. They are good enough and they are small, so I thought great. went to see it, it's quite basic but the frame was a small size. So I offered ger $60 and she took it! I recon she would have gone lower as well. D'OH! So I took the front mech off, both the grip shifts and all the cables. And just put one cable through so it had the one gear (trying to get rid of as much weight as possible, cos it's a cro-mo frame). I took the wheels from surlyjoe's bike becuase he had some Mavic rims. I took his cranks as well becusae he can remove the chain rings - so then I can fit a rock ring. I bought new grips and handle bars and set the v-brakes up a little better and now it feels great! To bring hte size of the frame down, I took the seat out, and chopped off some of the frame and ground it flush (like a proper trials bike should). All in all, it cost me $110 which is about 75 pounds sterling. I say thats money well spent for a bit of fun! All I need to do now is find a stem with less rise on it, and a rock ring Here are some pictures!!http://www.spodesabode.com/misc/bike1.jpg http://www.spodesabode.com/misc/bike2.jpg http://www.spodesabode.com/misc/bike3.jpg http://www.spodesabode.com/misc/bike4.jpg
