OK, I'll give you guys the details.

Our group of 28 students and 4 adults left on last Saturday. We arrived in Memphis that day and stayed in a hotel near there. The next day we hung out at Peabody Place and went to Graceland. We arrived at the mission site in Marvell, AR at about 5PM that Sunday. We had dinner and did some get-to-know activities. The next two days we would awake at 6:45am, eat breakfast, do about a half-hour of devos (quiet time with God, essentially), and then go to "Kid's Club" where we hung out with some of the little kids in the area. That was a very cool experience. My duty was to get the kids to sing songs. Unfortunantly, the area that we were doing mission work in is not very well off. The high school grad rate is about 51%, and teen pregrancy is the norm. It was really cool that the kids were interested in God, and wanted to sing songs such as "This Little Light of Mine" and "Father Abraham."

To interlude, every night we would have "club," which is where we would worship the Lord through songs and receive a sermonette from one of the staff members. That was always very cool, and as praising the Lord through song is probably my favorite thing to do, I liked it

Anyway, the last two days of my trip we were sent to houses to scrape and paint them. The first person whose house we painted was an elderly Baptist minister and he was cool to talk to. He shared his opinions on the difference between baptism with water and baptism with the Spirit, and the relationship between those differences and the Lutheran church. I personally agree with him. Anywho, we did some painting and scraping.

On the last night, at club, the sermonette was about how Jesus washed his disciple's feet. Then our youth pastors washed all of our feet, which you can imagine was a very powerful experience; there was not one in that room who was not crying. As my youth pastor said, "Tonight we caught a glimpse of heaven."

Finally, on the last night we stopped at Lambert's Cafe in Sikeston. That was cool, and then people I was sitting with were really cool. I really like one of the girls I was hanging with as a friend, and we'll just have to see what the Lord's purpose for having me befriend her (and vice-versa) is.

That's about it

Yeah, well now I'm kind of lonely

It sucks to have to come back home when you're around Christians of your own age 24 hours/day. But that is part of the test of my faith; will I be the same person now that I am not in the safety of the site? I sure hope so, as I've never been happier than this last week. I basically said, "Lord, your will be done," and all has been great. Except I lost my glasses and a library book, spilled soda at two meals in a row, and got a stomach sickness on the ride home. But hey, that's probably just Satan making up for lost time :clown:

LOL. I have no plans to change my denomination; mostly because I really don't care so much about demonination as much as the pastors at my current church.

And, for the record, the dude I talked to was with the SBC
