More Photos!

This morning I woke up to 10 adult ducks and 6 baby ducks outside our back door asking for food.

I thought this would be a good oppurtunity for some photos, so I lured the hungry family of baby ducks and the mother closer and took photos... Here is the best one.

Oh, we've been feeding them for years, thats how we have so many. I found this photo of them ducking around in the grass. I think I prefer it..

I couldn't help it. I just went on a photo jaunt in the garden. So the wildlife section is FULL!

This year we had a pair of adults in one of the ponds in the big garden. We counted 13 ducklings, but only 7 or 8 survived.

It looks very funny when the ducklings are swimming... we call them "Speed Boats", lol.

erlier on in the year we had 8 and they all died. they this was a batch of 9. have 6 now. I found one floating on the water, so I fished it out and took photos.

and speed boats is a good name for it !

I don't know much about technique. But having a digital camera has really helped, you can just keep snapping and learn from your mistakes.

I may not know what I'm doing, but I know what I like. And if I like a photo, it's usually good

Well, I don't have any pics of the ducks...There's waaay too many round my place and they poop all over my patio, but I did manage to get a good pic of the cats I feed.

cute I want a cat. But they will chase the ducks. We already get one hunting them. Several have fallen injury.

believe it or not, they aren't sleeping like that. The momma is the one on the right and her 'son' is on the left. I got them in the middle of a little love and purr session kinda thing. They are ALWAYS chasing the ducks too. Seems more like Wild kingdom in the back yard than anything else. The ducks start off with about 10 to 15 duckies, and I watch the numbers dwindle to about 5 or 6 in a matter of a few weeks. It's probably sad for the ducks, but hey, thats natures way. Besides, the fewer the ducks, the less poop on my patio!

Your ducks are much nicer to look at than mine are, Spode. The ones by my place have some weird radioactive red bumps on their head and they get grey feathers after about a year. Kind of freaky in a way. Makes me wonder what's in the water supply

Here's a pic of the latest additions to the cat family I have...I'm growing quite fond of the one in the middle. She jumps on my lap whenever I'm outside and just cuddles up and begs to be loved. Might have to get her 'fixed' and bring her inside to play with the monster cat I have.

Sorry to shift gears on you like this Spode...I'll try to get a picture of the 'radioactive ducks' this evening when I get home. It'll be raining so they will be at my back door playing in the puddles and eating the bird seed. (ok, you got me...I feed the ducks too )
