A new member class now walks these forums!

I have waited a year. I wanted to be very sure of those I appointed. Every member who now holds the "Mentor" designation does so with my personal endorsement and my deepest most heart felt thanks and appreciation.

Such men/women are hard to find, mostly they find you. They find you when you need them most.

"Mentor" is the highest appreciation we have to offer. Each one who bears this designation was hand picked by myself and myself alone.

It seems undignified to "Vote" for such people. I fully support them.

They are the ones should need ever arise, and I sincerely hope it never does, I will call upon to serve as Moderators, but don't hold your breathe! LOL

They are knowledgeable and endless in their compassion and understanding of our members problems.

When your hurting they just show up! When they leave your in good shape again or know how to get there from here.
They have my TOTAL confidence.

Please, do not ask, this is an honor that can not be given, even by me, it must be earned. I thank the stars for sending us such people. They set us apart and give everyday to these forums.

Please note that neither I nor my STAFF have this designation. We think of oursevles as the hosts of these forums. The only honor we seek is your presents here.

From our "Forums Rules" on our front page:

"5. A "Mentor"
I appoint Mentors in recognition of the following demonstrated and perceived qualities, here ranked in the order of importance I feel each of them to possess.

A. The ability and predisposition to help others, Particularly those who have yet to acquire those skills and that knowledge an Overclocker must possess in order to gain the satisfactions of our Art.

B. A demonstrated patience and reserve in dealing with unruly or disagreeable people.

C. The desire and skill to debate or disagree, resorting only to REASON rather than force of personality or insults which cannot further knowledge, but can only injure our progress.

D. The experience gained though a reasonably extensive back ground in overclocking together with a general knowledge of hardware and software taken as a whole.

E. Approximately six months in our forum. Time to demonstrate a continuing interest in our forum and allow me to determine the aptitude we seek"

As you can see they will hold no direct power over anyone. Their's is the "Small means of friendly persuasion"

They do not seek power, they seek to give the power of example to our members.

They are not listed here. They were picked one by one and with care. I wish you to have the joy of discovering them as I did, one by one.

Mentors, you have my thanks and my love.

Now there is a powerful statement

"He who wishes to be first among you must be last."

In my youthful curiousity I've been crusing the forums looking for Mentors, and from what I've seen, all chosen follow the above statement with a passion. Good call, Dan, and thanks Mentors

I only hope that six months from now we will be blessed with others worthy of their company.":O}

Yes six months is a long time. But we are in this for the long run and the foundation must be carefully laid!

4. A "Veteran Member"
As we are a forum and group of sites who believe we have a "Teaching Mission" We wanted to give recognition to those who have achieved a "Professional status" in the Computing world at large. We feel that such people bring with them a body of knowledge and experience which can prove quite useful in the attainment of our mutual goals. To gain such recognition in our forums we ask that the following be made available to us:

A. a MCSE or higher MicroSoft certification, Novell, Cisco, MCSP for programmers or some similar professional qualification that demonstrates their professional standing in the Computing field. In addition A Veteran member must have made 300 posts.

B. Any member with 300+ posts who possess an Engineering Degree.
