Your ORIGINAL Desktop Backgrounds Wanted!

AOAfiles is hosting a section for desktop backgrounds and we are asking, to share with us, some of your original work to share with others.

We cannot re-host other site's/artist's works, mainly for legal reasons, so I ask only share/freeware and originals be uploaded .

And if you could be specific in the description (screen size(s) being uploaded, what the image is, etc) that would be appreciated as well .

You can upload wallpapers (or anything for aoafiles) here.

I don't have any originals, mainly becuase I'm an artist's unartistic twin. Didn't see any goodies yet. I spose I'll give it the old college try this weekend and see if I can actually get something I'm not completely embarrased about up there

Original desktop wallpapers? like, wallpapers I designed for my own comp, or wallpapers designed for sites like this and spode's and whatever else?

The reason I'm asking is because I'm a sword designer. I should be handling a prototype for one of my designs sometime after Christmas (you can not believe how I am looking forward to testing this thing out! I wanna run a full test-cutting gamut with it!)

If you guys want my sword wallpapers up, tell me where to put'em, and I'll see if I can make any final adjustments. (I'm also worried about someone "ripping" my designs, if you know what I mean; sorry if I sound rude/paranoid)

(note about the swords themselves: they don't look anything like the garbage for sale at swords-online.com . These are designed firstly to look fantastic, but I spend a lot of time trying to work out anything that would impede it's performance. I go for Lord of the Ring-ish designs {although I would never want to design anything as ugly as Sting from the movie. The guy who did those designs did a smash-up job, for sure, but Sting was the exception})

Not in your sig is a good place to start. Sig pics is only for AOA Folders. Nothing personal, but if you get pics then everyone should get pics. The next thing you know everyone's looking at my cat's butt.

I like the red icon on the right, S_Wilson! I have one just like it, lol. Very... er... colorful background you have there.

Found where to put 'em. Lemme show a few that I've done. Are these OK to upload?

Bone-Wrecker, Rib-Cleaver, and Bloodletter (The two-hander will be available for purchase sometime around late Spring of 2003. It should weigh about 3.75 pounds, and cut a good ways through some 1/4" plywood.)
Wartooth (needs a little design work, that rennaisance pommel ain't enough to balance out a big blade like that)
Troll-Slayer (for all you moderator types)

As you can see, I've got this problem with getting the right contrast on the blade to make it look more realistic. I also need more practice with the displace filter, as is evidenced by the blood splats on the Wartooth wallpaper. The furniture on Troll-Slayer ain't lookin' right, either. That pommel's supposed to look like the one on Boromir's sword from the LotR movie (just noticed his pommel looked like what I was aiming for a few days ago).

Silverite, first - thanks for the photoshop tidbit from that other thread for Dan's avatar, I would never have though to approach it in that manner .

Second, these are very cool and perfect wallpapers .

Upload things here and myself and a few others have access to sort them.

On original works you're permitted to put any and all copyright and url information on them, just keeping in mind that people really want the image and not the advertisement . Yours were very well done, just making a mental note.

Not a lot to advertise. I won't be gung-ho about getting a website until I'm actually able to put those swords in other peoples' hands.
