Thumbs up Running multiple clients......

I have been conducting a study on the efficiency of running multiple folding clients on each machine. Here's what I came up with. On my duron I was getting about 8 minutes per frame on a villin w/u. Running 2 clients the time bumped up to 12 minutes. Seems a bit more efficient to me.
I am running 2 clients on each of my 3 machines now and am somehow getting 8 processors per week. I am also running one client on my work pc.
7 clients = 8 processors? I did notice the jump in numbers after I added the extra clients. anyway, thats my 2 cents.

I've always been a little leerie of running more than 1 client per box. I have thought about it several times and just about then someone makes a statement about they aren't getting credit for anything coming from that box. If it works for you I say "go for it".

We'll be watching you in the stats. The proof is in the pudding, as they say. Or in this case the stats.

Fold on !!!

Or in your case.....

Fold Fold on on !!!!!!

Which client are your running, graphic?
(I have no clue which is better, I've been using graphical since it was easy for me to set up.)

I'll keep an eye on you. Maybe you're on to something.

I don't think the graphical would lend it's self too well to multiples. I fairly sure you would have to run the console ver. and use a -local switch to keep the files from confusing each other.

Am I right Pony?

Well I'm using the text only console. I have been watching the stats on Den's site and I seem to have jumped a few W/Us per week. I think I was at 48 at the end of last week. I am at 59.6 now and still have the rest of the week to go.

We'll see.

This is very interesting indeed. If it turns out to be THAT MUCH faster, its definately worty it. With the old client however, there was no real performance gain by running two clients at a time...
