Multiple client - active processor

Quick question.
If you have a machine with say 2 clients and both have returned WU's in the last few days how many active processors should be shown at stanford.

Presumably it's two?

I'd think it's two.

Thanks Sigma, that's what I'd think too but I can't confirm it. Cant see anything on the Stanford forums apart from threads on configuring multiple clients.

The reason I'm asking is that the AOA-UK stats are showing 5 processors this week. I've got more clients than that myself which returned WU's this week. BUT I've only got 3 machines which returned WU's.

So if its clients theres something wrong, if its computers its probably okay. I'm just trying to understand this in case I've got a problem with my returns.

It should definately be two... as Stanford should see it as two entirely different instances of Folding.

Thanks Allan

Assuming this is correct it means I'm losing WU's from 3 clients, possibly more if the other guys are still folding. I can track the two at work by the time the last unit was sent in to Stanford so its on my home machines somewhere. I think I'll let the current units finish and reinstall from scratch.

Perhaps you are loosing WU's? I was having a problem with that a few weeks ago..

In fact, I was doing a 18pt'er (Two, accually.. DUAL!) and one instance of F@H lost the WU at 57frames and claimed instability..

I do know that if you reinstall your OS and start a new client it sees you as having an extra machine in that week.

I wondered about that as well Sigma but I've checked the logs and they have all completed fine. The OC is down a bit anyway because of the heat here.

I can see the logic in that with a new id etc. Unfortunately it doesn't apply here.

The only thing I did see is that two clients had aoa-uk instead of AOA-UK. I've changed them but I didn't think the names were case sensitive.

From my experience I am running 6 boxen with at times 4 instances each and have had as high as 24 processors showing. Right now I'm down to 16. Gromacs finish so fast.
