Anyone know if this is any better than the 3.25 beta? Has anyone tried it?

Yeah, I've been running it in beta for a while now. It's working pretty well. For you (us) AMD users, they added that nice little -forceSSE flag. Enjoy.

I have been beta testing this even before it went into beta (so is that called alpha testing??), and I haven't had a single problem with it

Release 4.00 of the Folding@Home client has implemented several new command-line flags in the console version. First and foremost of these is the oft-sought "-nosuck" flag. The "-forceSSE" flag is an alias to "-nosuck". There has also been further improvement in the logic involved in the core. The developers (quite correctly) assumed that if they added a flag for something, then the core would interpret what the client meant by said flag, implement it, and send back a result. Combining "-cure-alzheimers" and "-super-ultra-fast-do-it-now" resulted in the succesful resolution of the project, and Vijay Pande was seen hastily coding support for the "-buy-me-a-home-to-retire-to-on-an-island" flag, one that has been sorely missed in earlier releases.

Erm, it is about the same speed as 3.25. However, I do suggest you all update your clients when you can.
