Electron Microscope (overview ?)

Just curious as to the purpose of electron microscope. I remember reading about it earlier when I was researching diskless-folding possibilities, seemed it woud let the server monitor the folding of all the attached boards.

I have several puters all attached through a hub to DSL modem. Not networked as most are poorly equipped and used for folding. I can monitor them all through a KVM switch, one at a time. Is there any reason for me to use electron microscope? (it looks real cool)

I don't know much at all about networking and have windows2000 pro installed on all boxes (don't tell Prat I should have more Linux by now).

I'm curious about this, too. What does EM bring to the party?

EM3 shows you info about the unit you are currently working on. Shows unit name, time pr frame and calculates a "remaining time".

It shows the amount of points the current unit is worth, and it also shows you your total score.

Another neat feature is that it saves info on past units, so you can create tables with all sorts of info.

Hope this helps - IMHO its worth a download!

You get the most out of EM if you have multiple computers set up in a network. It lets you monitor all the machines from one place.

Another thing EM is capable of is launching the client across a network. This is convenient if FAH is not running all the time and needs to be started. You don't have to go to the particular machine to launch it.

Huh. All this time and I didn't know it could do that. That would help out a bit.
Can you help me with the setup for that?

Setup for which one? launching clients or just observing other clients on other machines?

Launching clients on a network.
I'm observing them already if that helps.

It seems I am in error. It doesn't launch the client across a network. I just thought it would do that from some of the options available but I think I mis-interpreted it. Sorry if I mislead anyone. The best you can do is change the configuration.
