im in the process of making an installer for people with dual cpus and another one for dual cpus with HT

That's very strange, mine went right along. Did you have your previous FAH install in the default folder? which is:

C:\Program Files\Folding@Home

nope. was on another drive even. was in D:\folding@home

i had a similar situation on some of my rigs when i was testing the install, except the WU was not lost, instead, i got 2 clients open at the same time because the previous folder was named something like FAH or F@H.

i have also lost some WUs since this new client, particulary the new, "memory hogger" ones at about 70 - 90 % done.

Question rm. I only need to change my name in the config file and i will get credit correct? I havent seen a boost yet from those boxes and they have been up since thur.

You can check both the client.cfg file and also the registry. The registry key can be found at:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>PandeGroup>Folding@Hom e>5.00

The value for "name" should be your name.

RM's production doesn't seem to be significantly changed, either.

MINE HAS! Thanks to this thread I just checked my Linux box, where all is strange and new to me, and FAH still isn't running as it should. Man I spent FOUR days figuring out how to run it under Suse. Once I had it down...i didn't work!

So Kiatian SSH'ed in and set things to right. But it must not have re-started at boot as planned.7 DAYS lost! That on top of the 7 days it took me to really get up in Suse and start doing things.

Ah well spilt milk... sigh... LOL

jazz -- yes, that is correct.

check that you dont have two instances of the console running when there should only be one. this happens when you have had a previous install of FAH before this when the previous folder was not called "Folding@Home."

i just had to reformat my main box (windows wouldnt boot) i used my installer and all is going fine, it is folding.

the username is only housed in the client.cfg file, nowhere else. check that you havent misspelled your username.

or perhaps some of your other boxed have crashed
