But the new P4s are awesome cuz you can have two instances open and each using half the CPU, i like that..lol
Even with HT, the only way a P4 can beat AMD at folding is with DGromacs. I haven't seen A64's so that may not hold true.

Bottom line... both fold great, better if overclocked.

I heard HT P4's are good with double Gro's. When I get D Gro's, it's always on my P4 (although it's not HT).

What do you think about the new Sempron's as folders?

DG are definitely a huge edge for HT P4s. A while back, my P4 was getting them non stop for about 3 days... I projected that if it kept coming, I would have been scoring 2,000-3,000 points a week from the one box. I assume that an A64 with DG should give similar results.

Semprons?, haven't looked at 'em at all. If they don't have 64 bit, and no SSE2, I wouldn't go near it... Just an overpriced AXP.

Edit: Maybe a bit faster, but not exactly revolutionary either. I just checked a few comparisons... and I don't think it has SSE2, so no big boost with DG.

I haven't checked that deeply into what the Sempron's have going for them yet.
I did see them compared a to Celi D, though.

It will be interesting to see if it makes a good folder, HotRod.
If you're getting one to try out, anytime soon, let us know how it does.
