Allan, if you're not running big wu's, is this a necessary update?

That was kind of my thoughts too. I just said it differently.

No, if you're not doing big WU's this update isn't necessary. At least it should not be.

Ok, thank you.
I'm not looking forward to upgrading the program any more than I have to.

Any reason I should upgrade from v3.24?

Laz.

Just to upgrade I guess, I see no other reason, other than it has more "bugs" worked out..

My p4 is running 5.00 with dual big units and the last few days it's had a few units abort at random points, one was at 80 somthing % another at 20 somthing and some more at 10 somthing %. It could possibly be a fix for this. They could do with forcing the new core to be downloaded as the laptop is running verson 1.68 (fahcore_78 sse core, it got it the other day) whilst the p4 is running 1.67 in both instances which is a few months older.
The P4 is doing nothing but big units atm so there is probably a surplus of them if you have the ram to spare (150megs each) go flick the switch
It's a good thing i've got a gig of ram in the p4, as windows now sits idle (other than folding) with 550 megs of ram used (300 going to the fold)

It crashes like crazy on any XP Home version I run it on, but my XP Pro rig runs it without a hitch. I've had the random restart as well from different points, but as long as I don't "open" the graphic window it keeps running just fine. I think I'm running 5.0 on my P4 machine and it gives me no problems, so I am just going to leave it alone as it's the only machine I can count on constant uninterrupted output from since I don't game on it anymore.

I haven't had it crash randomly on my XP Pro box with SP2. It always crashes predictably.

Any time I open the GUI, it crashes. So I don't open the GUI.
