Running a bit behind because of work, still working on it but it may be after the weekend before I get back to it.
I have to move out of my house by Monday, but my offer on the new place has not been accepted yet. It's a logistics nightmare, I will be staying at my Mom's, my house stuff will be in storage, my cars and trailers will be scattered throughout 3 peoples backyards.

Some electrical work and adding new office space, with a proper air conditioned server space in each shop. Have to raise the flooring and do a few other things. I've been wanting to do this for awhile but just finalized the plans recently.

damn, never really noticed. I thought it was taking too long and looked at 'processes'. read your reply
and checked another dual core box to find 4 instances of fahcore-a1.exe. now I know.

New client version 6.23 available here:

http://www.stanford.edu/~kasson/fold...-Win32-x86.exe

http://www.stanford.edu/~kasson/folding/linux/fah6

Client reportedly handles EUEs and hung client situations better than before. This is not an installer, just drop it in over the old executable in your SMP directory.

another problem has reared it's ugly head. earlier this month, none of my smp clients would start/run. I decided to remove/delete everything and start over. downloaded the 6.22Beta SMP, installed and started Folding only to find 1 instance of FahCore_82.exe running at 50%. I am sure there is a reasonfor this and a way to get it straightened out. I will see what I can do from here. any help will be welcome.

AFAIK, that isn't an SMP core. In fact, I could be wrong but I think it's a Linux uniprocessor core. I'm not at my machine to tell you for sure but I'm pretty sure it isn't what you want. Don't ask me how you got it, IDK

I know that 5.91/5.92 have expired. I went to F@H and downloaded 6.22Beta and after installing it on 3 boxes, all are doing the same core. on this box it's a Gromacs 3.3 Core, V 1.93, project 5113. it is the Deino version, going to try the mpich or something.

I'm not saying you're lying - far from it. Stranger things have happened. In my XP SMP boxes, I have fahcore_a1.exe only. All of them.

And in my Linux SMP boxen, I have a1 and a2 only.

Not a hint of fahcore_82. I'm nearly sure it's a uniprocessor core. Are you sure you downloaded the right thing? Maybe post the log. It might help troubleshoot.

you've forgotten the smp flag/argument and the deino, too.

without any arguments = single core client
with -smp = MPICH SMP
with -smp -deine = DEINO SMP

start the .exe with -config -> advanced options -> additional parameters
for MPICH type in: -smp
for DEINO type in: -smp -deino
