It mentions PCs as well...

Quote:
Until March this year, FAH only ran on PCs.

The program had around 200,000 computers participating in the program, the equivalent of about 250 teraflops (trillion calculations per second).

The addition of 670,000 PS3s has taken the computing power of the network to more than one petaflop.
It's the addition of the PS3s which has pushed the processing power up to such a high level.

It looked like we've just crossed over a petaflop, some time last night. This is something we've been expecting for a while, due to the great performance that comes from the PS3 client. In particular, recent PS3 updates (see previous post) have greatly enhanced the performance of the PS3 client (running GB WU's). We expect this number to continue to rise a bit more (maybe to 1.1 or 1.2 PFLOPS) as we switch over to running exclusively GB WU's.

Check this graph out, it should answer your questions:

Not to forget the Xbox360!

Oh...

Wait... that much CPU usage and it would probably overheat and die.

Send a message via MSN to Samuknow

It is amazing that they can get the PS3 client right but the SMP client still sucks.
