| 5.91/5.92 SMP clients EXPIRE August 2 If your client stops working this weekend, here's why: ![]() Smp The old one will continue to run as long as the box isn't rebooted. It will not start after Aug 2, though. If you screw up, set the clock back a day and the old client will start again.

| You can avoid problems one of two ways. First update to the new 6.22 beta which covers SMP and nonSMP rigs. The flag -smp is necessary to get smp units. Go here to learn more: Folding Forum • View topic - Windows SMP v6.22beta2 client released! Second, you can get the extended 5.91 or 5.92. The only change is in the expiration date. Go here to get it: Folding Forum • View topic - 5.91 and 5.92 deprecated but extended All methods can use the file drop in method and relink to get them to work... Just make sure you back up first.... I lost about 3000 points this weekend sorting this mess out. |

| I was lucky. I got the whole farm settled in two days and only lost one WU-and it was my own fault for not backing up in that case. It's pretty easy to change over. I had to use the channel -shm build that Pande released though. This is a special build that will probably be hard-coded into the next release. It overcomes a problem where some configurations don't utilize 100% of the cpu. It worked for me.

after restarting the client I changed the time in Windows. seems to be working. so far. soon it will be time to upgrade the smp client. I want it to be as easy as it can be. since it is beta and requires more work, I'll be patient. just don't make me work too hard. Ron |

![]() Kidding aside, the upgrade/update is pretty easy. If you don't want to do it now there is a time-extended version of 5.91/2 that is available on the download page. It is the same client you have been running, but with a November expiry date. Use that one if you don't have the time to change over now.
