Question How Long?

I just joinged the Team, and I got a ProteinA. How long does it normally take a XP1900+ to chew through it? I know it should take a while, but what's the average time frame? And, if I am OC'd (As I am) will it help or hinder it?

Overclocking definately HELPS folding, or at least it speeds up the process quite a bit.

The XP should be very fast, but the ProteinA's are some big bastards, so perhaps about 9-10 minutes per frame?

protein A is very slow, but an XP1900+ @1700 mhz will chew through it faster than most! 24/7 my xp 1800 @1601mhz would probably do 2 or 3 protein A's a day

Allan - Thankx

Random Nonsense - Okay. Is that dedicated, or multitasking? I have it running in the background while I surf and chat and type and whatnot, and I think it will take about 12 hours per... Just a guess though.

Okay. I was just wondering. I think that FOLDING@HOME is more useful in real life, but SETI@HOME has interesting possibilities! What if YOU were the one to find the little green guys?

When I was over @ OC.com I was looking for the lill dudes

But yes I think F@H is more productive.

Are we worth saving? Ahh that's another story

Hmmm... My 1600+@1540mhz takes about 10 minutes a frame which works out to about 16.7 hours. If you're able to finish 2-3 a day, maybe I'm doing something wrong. What's your setup like?

I was getting one frame per 7 minutes with no OC'z. I OC'd to 1.7GHz and got it down to about 6min/frame. I OC'd to 1.75GHz, and it was back up at about 6:30/frame. So I am now happly at 1.7GHz while folding.
