OK, +3 for new badges. Anyone else with input?

Does anyone know where this one came from, 'cause it was here before me, and I have to research the requirements of the design for our site before we do anything.

As I recall, it was a popular uprising......I just wrote a little code to make it all work.

That's exactly the plan, if enough peeps are interested in a new one. But before I spin everyone's wheels it needs to have some support.

Here's what I have so far for the linux install. I need to go through the configure stage of setting it up, but wanted to get you something in case you are trying to work around me.

Don't rush, I'm not doing any workarounds. You'll be finished when you're finished.

Had to wait until I got back to the house to figure out why I hadn't gotten points today. Never a good feeling when you walk in the house and all the clocks are flashing 12:00 and my rig won't post. Guess my $130 surge protector was a waste of money as well. It's either a motherboard or a CPU, I'm hoping it's the board because I don't think I can get another 920 that will overclock to 3.6 on stock voltage.

That's worry some to hear about the surge protector being useless. I have the 3 rigs with less expensive surge protectors but when you buy something you have faith it will do as stated. So much for that.

It was more just that one surge protector that didn't do it's job, My server is fine (outside of having to clean up the filesystem) and the one other rig I had running on a $20 dollar protector is fine as well.

I remember once having the same thing happen, got home and the power was cut. The machine didn't post at first, but after a "rest" overnight it posted, but the BIOS had been corrupted. A flash put everything in order. I hope for your sake it sorts out.

I have lots of problems with the power and telephone infrastructure here. It's simply not up to US standards, although it is probably the best in Southeast Asia. I use expensive UPS units and still they occasionally let me down. I never have gotten my head around UPS specs regarding speed of the inverter switching over to battery power. Mine are attached to a serial port and are instructed via software to shutdown the box if battery power gets to under 10%. Still, I do find that they sometimes don't kick in fast enough, and the box gets its plug pulled instead of a soft shutdown.

My server and other rig are on a dedicated line with it's own breaker in this 40 year old house, I was going to start pulling new wire for the rest of my important stuff when I moved in, but never got that far. Something about pulling my 240lb butt through the attic when it's 115 degrees made me say wait until winter.

I pulled everything and tried powering up the board, as soon as I hit the power button the leds on the board dimmed about 1/2 way and stayed like that.

I'll pick up a board on the way home tonite. Bad part is even an ECS 1366 board is close to $200..

The shop I stopped by only had a Foxconn Flaming Blade in stock, so I grabbed that and my computer is up and running again, although I think flaming turd would have been a better name for the board.

On a good note, I sent an email to Biostar telling them what happened and I wanted to send my board in to have it repaired at my cost. 2 hours later I was asked for a copy of the invoice, 3 hours after that I had an RMA # for a no charge repair or replacement. I never even mentioned that I have 2 other rigs with Biostar T-series boards in them running..

Good to hear that they helped you out. Now you have a backup "turd". Always good to have one of those
