Lionfish,

I think I'd be much more wary of Surlyjoe and Dimm than Spyder, S_Wilson, or myself. We're still a looooonnnnngg ways back in terms of points.

Like I said Lionfish, I'm not much to worry about, unless I do something crazy like build another box or twenty . . .

$600! You could get 3 of these:

ECS K7S5A = 57.00
Duron 1Ghz = 42.00
EVERCASE E4252WEF5 = 42.00
KINGSTON 128MB DDR PC2100 = 29.00

AC sounds good . . .

I was thinking of building a bong to cool all my machines(two of the three I have folding are already water-cooled), but Wal-Mart has 10,000BTU window units going for $250, so I'm considering that route. As a bonus I could move all my machines in the bedroom and have a cool sleeping enviroment(the AC unit would be 3 fold noisier than any of my machines) . . .

I'm going to start sounding like a broken record here but I tell you....... The trick is to suck the heat being produced and dumped into the room, out the window where the heat belongs.

We spend so much time getting cool air to the machines but the ambient temps are going up and up because of the heat pouring out the backs of the boxes. Might as well put a ceramic heater in the room and run it full blast.

Suck that hot air out the window.

The problem with my setup is that my machines are not conveniently located to do this. This would be a great idea if I literally had a farm where all the machines are under one desk or something, but they're located in various parts of the house. The ones at my business are the same way. I got this idea to leave the case open on the hot ones and put a fan next to each one. Too noisy from both the open case and the fan right in front of it. I'll have to figure something else out or drop the OC on the machines, which I am loathe to do just on principle.

No you don't :-D

When I redo the comp room the 3 case's will be on the desk infront of the fan that will be blowing the hot air out the window.
