install disk (for recruits!)

i worked out a F@H "install disk"/install pack (not sure how i'm going to fit it on a floppy disk ) going to put it in the files 2morrow (gonna write some bats...) anyways the point is- more recruits! faster!

i dont know if anyone else has noticed but the win2k type console client WILL run on a win98 machine and is MUCH less buggy than the win98 console client...

 edit: lol i just notice for 3.1 they consolidated the console client, so there is no win98 and win2k version anymore

Can you make some thing so that we can distributes a file that auto-configs F@H to Team 45 and AOA_Oregon (For my copy) or what ever you want?

That should be pretty easy. Just include it as part of the batch file to create the folder and copy the config file with the team number and ID BEFORE F@H installs. F@H will install in the directory you just created and start by using the config file you copied over beforehand.

i was thinking just have a copy of the config file on the disk, then you could change it to whatever you want the bat would just copy it on the hdd that way you wouldnt get sore fingers!

here it is... i havent been able to test it though... could someone try it out and make sure everything works and the readme.txt makes sense? i would greatly appreciate! i'm 99% sure the win98 process works since its very simple but the win2k process needs testing (i'm not 100% sure that the registry file i made is perfect) i decided to skip the batch files since just using an SFX is simplier & smaller

ill be uploading later 2day if i get some feedback (if it works fine, and you get tired of waiting, upload it for me :-D )

how did you get past me while i was working on making new shelves in the garage?

Kill them all! cuz they havent downloaded it and tested it!

 

i'm about to test the win2k but i only have power user priv on this comp AND its has deepfreeze (anyone know how to temp disable that?)

 

edit: ack i cant get the stoopid services to show up and i cant reboot (deep freeze!) ideas?
