I Require Inspiration...

I currently have two computers in my possession.

AMD Athlon 64 S754 3200+
Gigabyte K8VT800 Pro
512mb Generic RAM
Gigabyte 9800 Pro
Seagate 7200.8 300GB SATA
BenQ 16x DVD Burner (in-transit)
AeroCool CoolDrive 4

Athlon XP 1800+ 266FSB
Gigabyte 7VT600
Gigabyte 9600XT ViVo
512mb Generic RAM
Seagate 7200.7 120GB IDE
LiteOn 8x DVD Burner

Its not really my choice that they all Gigabyte, just kind of happeneed.

Anyway, the A64 will be going into an Antec Super Lanboy that is on the way.

I have a desktop case here, that is doing nothing, it already has a window cut in it. I was wondering what other mods I could do to it. Suggest anything as wild and crazy as you like. When/If I get enough money I will be water cooling it. A 3x120mm radiator mounted externally + CPU block + pump to begin with.

But in the mean time, I was thinking, lining the the rubber edges of the window with EL cable.

What else could I do?

Water cooling?

If you have an LCD you could mod it so it's the stand for your LCD as well

You could try building a ducting system for the CPU HSF, that would be cool.

you could also do some custom paintwork on the outside, like graphiti (sp?) or such.

well, that's me out of ideas :/

LCD panel I dont have. Graphiti I could try... Interesting thought.

The ducting thing I may try. Because it does have a 120mm exhaust fan.

Going on the assumption you meant 'coffin'. Nice suggestion, but I dont think I could get away with it.

Hm, if you can, upload a few pictures of the desktop case. I have better ideas when I have pictures. =)

What software do you use to connect up LCD? And how do you connect it?

Theres loads of differant ones, but i think the best is probably LCDC, its not very "user friendly" but once you have a play (which is half the fun) you can do some really amazing stuff. I love the possiblities that you can do with the software and the hardware as the one i have has programmable ports that you can connect LED, Relays... endless possiblities, their a really good modding starting point...

Heat and space are issues though.

Depending on how skilled you are with acrylic, you could mount the motherboard ON the case, then have an acrylic box around it, which would give you more space for HDD/PSU/CDrom/Beer in the case itself, you could also add some LEDs to make it look pretty...

How about mounting one of those plasma discs on the side of the case?
