No worries Samuknow, let me know how it goes. Thanks Pitch. I appreciate it mate,

Not too shabby if I do say so myself. Contemplating giving it a paint job, but I have other things on my plate at this point in time.

Not bad at all.
One question, why not just slow down the 40's?

you know I think it is a good mod. Good thinking, but, once you scratched it up you needed to to go ahead and sand ,prime and paint.
Then it will be completed. As I say I like it. Now finish it out.

Sounds like a part 2 to me. I'll get on it on my next day off.

Ladies and gentlemen, lend me your ears, what colour should I paint it?

Always fond of blues...

Maybe a nice two tone....

Or perhaps one of the textured finishes...

May I introduce you to Cisco rackmount switches (or Sun Opteron servers). They are the whiniest, screechiest annoying bits of kit there are (probably). Being in a roomfull of such kit has been known to send people over the edge.

I have 2 of thoes' monsters in my lab, noisy when the bearings are good, just wait until one goes out. Sounds like nails on a chalkboard x10. Easiest way to fix that is a slower/quieter one from tiger or newegg.

The only use I've put a 40mm to is added cooling for a GPU. Was a loong time ago, but the Vidcard appreciated it! It was a high quality fan, made little noise.
