Exclamation Thermaltake Sonic Tower

If you are in search of a quiet CPU cooler then TT Sonic Tower is one option. It has a 120mm Thunder Blue Led fan that starts spinning after the CPU reaches 50 C. This doesn't happen often but once in a while if the room is quiet and you work something in Photoshop or some other program that needs the CPU 100% you will hear it for a few seconds or a minute and then all will be quiet.

That would be too heavy for a regular case. It would need a case that lies flat...

Yes im aware of this. But i was implying the motherboard would take the "hit" depending on the orientation of the board.

It looks far too impractical for a regular users case, water cooling or conventional fan cooling looks far more inviting.

It would be tempting if you where looking for a silent PC with good performance, however I agree with Rondog - you would need to put it in a desktop case, rather than a tower, otheriwse it would put huge pressure on the top mounting screw :/

This heatsink is quite old...about a year now. It's actually quite light, and because of the lack of a fan, weighs almost the same as teh Typhoon, also from Tt.

The a64 mounting, as well as the sonic towe mounting, ensure that most of the pressure exerted by the weight of the heatsink is absorbed by the mobo tray. You can toss a couple of pounds on there without worries!

toss a fan in there, and you have one of teh best air heatsinks there is!

It's also one of the ugliest. It wouldn't fit in a normal case, it's overly big, grotesque and unneccessary.
Just my $0.02
