Laptop fan seems to be making to much noise.
Is there some program i can use to turn my processor strength all the way down to about nothing? because that fan is loud as heck for some reason, i think its just because the computer is getting so old.

the only reason i want it quiet is because i take it to class at school.

Hmm, it really does depend what the laptop is based on - you might have some luck with clockgen if the chipset is supported. Other than that it might be worth taking it apart and either replacing the fan or at least oiling it / cleaning it.

i say take it apart enough you can acess the screws of the fan, and then swap it out for a nice new glowy fan Long live the Laptop Modding!!

Squirt some compressed air at it if you do not feel comfortable taking it apart, that should help some

Remember to blow dust out of the case, and not into it though.
